Should I bring my own bike to the tour?
No. All of our tours include a Green 1970s-Beach-Cruiser Bike. We also provide a helmet and bottle of mineral water for every rider. And of course, a bilingual guide (English and Spanish) will lead you throughout the route.

Do I have to wear a helmet?
As it stands, Chilean law does indeed require it, apart from the fact it is a simple safety measure.

Do I have to make a reservation in advance, or can I just turn up without notice?
Reservations are always recommended, as we have a limited amount of bikes. Although reservations are not needed for bike rentals, those who have made reservations are given first priority. Please do call us at the numbers listed at the bottom of the page or email us at tours@labicicletaverde.com

Should I be really physically fit to do a tour with La Bicicleta Verde? I haven´t ridden a bike since I was 12 years old!
No, not at all. Anyone who knows how to ride a bike will enjoy our tours. Both children and elderly folk have joined us over the past months with no problems as all. All of our tours have a number of short stops while in route to share information, ask questions, laugh and rest when needed. We have put together a ride that is suitable for all skill levels and ages, from those who haven't ridden years to those who ride regularly. La Bicicleta Verde is a great option for the whole family. It's all as easy as ...well, riding a bike! No, you won’t be the first grandmother or grandfather riding the tours.

Our afternoon tour, Parks and Politics, is a gentle ride through the parks and downtown Santiago, pedaling and coasting right about 6.8 miles or 11 kilometers.
Our morning tour, Local Life, is a gentle ride through the northern part of Santiago, including Bella Vista, Patronato, Independencia, and into the main square. This easy-going outing is just over 4.1 miles long or 6.6 kilometers long. Santiago is an ideal city for bike riding or bike tourism, due to its level landscape, spacious park space, and relatively uncluttered side streets. All of this makes for a simple route for almost all types of individuals. If you feel comfortable riding a bike through a park at a slow speed, you will feel comfortable on our tours.

Is it safe?
Santiago is a very safe city. Chileans are very respectful of us throughout our tour, slowing down to give us the right-away at turns and stopping when we must cross at the different side streets throughout the route. Do you rent bikes?
Yes, everyday of the week. We have hourly rates, half-day and full-day rates. We have several types of mountain bikes, all of which are Trek. We have green beach cruiser bikes for rent. We also have a tandem, two person single speed bike for rent. We recommend you make a reservation for your bike rental at rental@labicicletaverde.com You can find the prices and schedules for the rentals at www.labicicletaverde.com/arriendos.php All the prices listed are for rentals from our offices. If you would like us to drop-off or pick-off the bikes for your convenience, just consult us for those prices upon making your reservation.

Are there any age or height requirements, or limitations in this respect?
At this moment, all passengers under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. While there is no height requirement, our bikes are best suited for individuals over 1.60 meters or 5 foot 3 inches tall. As for our tallest customers, we have had visitors measuring in at nearly 6 ft 8 inches or close to 2 meters tall. Considering our bike tours are created to relaxing atmosphere and not a racing competition, our beach bikes fit a lot of sizes.

Can I change the schedule of departure for my tour?
Of course, all of our tours can be "privatized" for a minimal charge. Just consult us when you make your reservation and let us know what time you want to schedule your tour.

How big are the groups on the bike tours?
Most groups average from 3-5 people with a maximum of 10 passengers. Any groups over 5 passengers go with two guides just to make the tour more personalized.

Will you organize outings for large groups?
Without a doubt. We have organized tours for groups of 25!

I had a great time on the tour. What can I do to support you or where can I send a testimonial myself?
We're happy to hear your comments and will post them with any appropriate pictures you might send too. Please send your testimonial to info@labicicletaverde.com

If you want to help us in other ways, just let your hotel and other travelers that you recommend us.
