| La Bicicleta Verde, LBV (the Green Bicycle), operates tours based on the ideal of sustainable tourism. This is a commitment to making a low impact on the environment and local culture, while helping to generate income and employment for local people. The aim of sustainable tourism is to ensure that development is a positive experience for local people, tourism companies and tourists themselves.
As a sustainable tourism company, La Bicicleta Verde has and continues to revolutionize tourism in and around Santiago. The city bike tours are the first of their kind and take you to the main sights of the city as well as the hidden cultural spots other tours miss. You experience, not only see, the culture, history and vibe of our Latin American capital.
Furthermore LBV has taken the traditional tours of Chile’s famous wine valleys and reinvented them with Bike and Wine. There are more than 100 vineyards near Santiago, so why do 99% of tour companies visit the same few vineyards, located very close to Santiago’s suburbs? Many other companies claim to offer unique tours of undiscovered places, but LBV can guarantee this because we are the only company offering tours in the rural areas of the wine valleys, far from the suburbs of Santiago.
Finally, abandoning the standard walking tour, our Huachaca Tour takes you on a culinary exploration of Chile’s most popular food and drinks in the most traditional locales. Recently Anthony Bourdain came to Chile and tried many of the same things offered in our tour. Our Walk and Talk Tour uses the same concept of our bike tours, but on foot.
La Bicicleta Verde is a contagious experience, created by Picnic Sur Ltda, a company focused on developing innovative tourism. Founded by Peter Murphy Lewis (USA) and Joel Martinez (Chile), both of whom are socially conscience cyclists and self-proclaimed gurus. La Bicicleta Verde is making urban Santiago more accessible than ever, for both visitors and its inhabitants.
La Bicicleta Verde is a partner of CHiP Community, and we are proud to use only Gama beach cruisers.
